Since Rinaldo was offered an in-person hearing he is eligible to be suspended for six or more games.
He received a boarding major and a game misconduct for this hit:
The Penguins announced Wednesday that Letang would be a game-time decision when Pittsburgh plays host to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Rinaldo has a history with the Department of Player Safety. In April of last year he was suspended four games for an illegal check to the head of Buffalo Sabres defenseman Chad Ruhwedel.
