Devan Dubnyk helped his new team, the Minnesota Wild, to a victory over his former team, the Arizona Coyotes, on Saturday.

After getting traded north to Minnesota this week, Dubnyk made 25 saves as the Wild defeated the Coyotes 3-1. Minnesota has now won back-to-back games, after a six-game losing streak saw their coach Mike Yeo snap and players question their recent efforts.

It’s two steps forward. But the Buffalo Sabres and Coyotes hardly count as difficult teams to get two points against. Dubnyk had to be up to the challenge in the third period, as the Coyotes fired 11 shots his way as they pressed for the equalizer.

“That’s a great group of guys that work hard over there and at some point they’re going to make a push, and they did in the third,” said Dubnyk, as per Sarah McLellan of azcentral sports.

Dubnyk seems to be leaving an impression on the Wild fans, who finally get something to cheer about after some frustrating times these last few weeks.
