Reto Berra struggled keeping pucks out of the net at the NHL level for the Colorado Avalanche this season.
On Friday, however, he scored an empty net for the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters. And then, well, he decided to celebrate. And it was awesome.
Earlier this month, Berra was ripped in the media by Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy, before eventually getting sent down to the minors.
Reto Berra became the 11th goalie in American Hockey League history to score a goal when he converted a full-ice shot into an empty net at 18:34 of the third period, putting an exclamation point on a 5-1 win for the Lake Erie Monsters (16-15-2-3) Friday night over the Chicago Wolves (19-15-4-0) at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
