Tuukka Rask made 30 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Boston Bruins blanked the New York Rangers 3-0 Thursday night.

With the win, the Bruins extend their win streak to a season-high five games.

Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Loui Eriksson provided the offence for the Bruins while defenseman Torey Krug had two assists in the win.

Cam Talbot made 29 saves in the loss.

With the shutout loss the Rangers have been blanked in consecutive games for the first time under Alain Vigneault.

During the first intermission the Bruins announced rookie David Pastrnak would stick with the club and play in his 10th game Saturday burning the first year of his entry-level contract.

In the second period Bruins forward Brad Marchand slew footed Derick Brassard. There was no penalty on the play. However, according to Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe, the league will be reviewing the play.

The league could also look at the dangerous hit by Rangers’ forward Chris Kreider on Carl Soderberg.

Kreider received a boarding minor for the hit. Soderberg remained in the game.

Chris Kelly stepped in to fight Kreider and received two minutes for instigating, five minutes for fighting and a 10 minute misconduct.

The two teams meet again Feb. 4 in New York.
