Remember when Kevin Connauton was on waivers?
Well, the Columbus Blue Jackets picked him up, and it’s a move that’s proven beneficial for both sides. On Wednesday, Connauton opened the scoring for the Blue Jackets as they faced the Montreal Canadiens. It was his seventh goal of the season, in his 21st game for Columbus. Not bad. Historical, even.
Unfortunately for Connauton, the Blue Jackets coughed up a two-goal lead in the third period - the Habs scored three times in a span of less than four minutes - and lost to the Canadiens by a final score of 3-2.
Per Elias: @KConnauton is 1st defenseman in @BlueJacketsNHL history to score at least 7 goals in his first 21 games with the team. #MTLvsCBJ
