Buffalo forward Cody McCormick was released from hospital Monday after being diagnosed with blood clot in his leg over the weekend.

While a positive development, the club also said McCormick doesn’t have a timetable for return.

The 31-year-old, who rejoined the Sabres organization after spending last season in Minnesota, has scored one goal and four points in 33 games this year; his lone goal came on Friday night against Tampa Bay and, the following day, Buffalo’s team trainers sent him to hospital for evaluation.

With McCormick now sidelined indefinitely, the Sabres have recalled Phil Varone and Zac Dalpe from AHL Rochester.
