Video: Hawks take quick 2-0 lead against Wild

Hossa goal

The Minnesota Wild badly need a win after dropping 10 of their last 12 games, but they might not get one against the Chicago Blackhawks tonight. They certainly have an uphill battle ahead of them after falling behind 2-0 in the first period.

Marian Hossa took advantage of a wide open net to get Chicago on the board at 4:17 of the first period. Jonathan Toews did a great job of setting the goal up, but the Wild also didn’t look good defensively on that play.

Bryan Bickell got Chicago’s second goal just 3:36 minutes later. As was the case with the first marker, Bickell was the benefactor of some nice setup work by his teammates -- in this case Patrick Kane in particular -- but once again this was also a failure on the part of Minnesota’s defense.
