Minnesota forward Thomas Vanek doesn’t have a disciplinary hearing scheduled for his hit on Chicago’s Marcus Kruger Thursday night, an NHL spokesman confirmed.

Vanek was given a five-minute boarding major for this check, delivered midway through the opening period of Chicago’s eventual 4-2 win:

Kruger left the game temporarily and played just one more shift in the first period, but went on to take regular shifts in the second and third, finishing with 13:38 TOI.

Vanek has a clean history with the NHL’s department of player safety, having never been fined nor suspended over the course of his career.

That said, the NHL reserves the right to alter its decision and still schedule a hearing, though it would likely need to do so well in advance of Minnesota’s next game -- which is on Saturday, against the Predators at Xcel.
