Dallas’ dynamic duo of Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn -- the NHL’s second- and 30th-ranked scorers -- will get an intriguing new linemate tonight as rookie Brett Ritchie will skate on the club’s top line.

More, from the Stars website:

Expected to be on the top line tonight is Brett Ritchie, who has been impressive in his first four NHL games. Ritchie, who has three points (two goals, one assist) in those four games, got some time on that top line Tuesday against Columbus.

“He’s played well. He’s created good opportunities,” said Stars coach Lindy Ruff. “He drew some penalties last game and I thought he skated well. He’s been a good weapon for us.”

A former scoring sensation with OHL Niagara -- 57 goals, 106 points over his final 83 games in junior -- Ritchie was the 44th overall pick at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and has fared well with AHL Texas over the last two seasons, scoring 33 total goals.

At 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Ritchie -- the older brother of Anaheim first-rounder and Team Canada WJC champ Nick Ritchie -- will provide some more size to the top line, which is a scary prospect. Seguin’s a solid 6-foot-1, 200 pounds while Benn, one of the better power forwards in the league, tips the scales at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds.
