Tyler Johnson scores twice as the Lightning double up the Habs

Tyler Johnson had a pair of goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning leapfrogged the Montreal Canadiens for top spot in the Atlantic Division with a 4-2 win Tuesday night.

Tampa Bay has now won both meetings between the two clubs this season. The loss snaps Montreal’s six-game winning streak.

Dale Weise opened the scoring at 15:07 of the first period; however, it was all Tampa Bay after that.

J.T. Brown tied it 1-1 at 3:17 of the second. Johnson then scored his first of the night, on a power play, midway through the middle period. Brett Connolly gave Tampa a 3-1 lead at 18:16 of the second period and Johnson’s second power play goal with 22 seconds remaining in the period gave Tampa a 4-1 lead.

Max Pacioretty had the other Habs goal.

Ben Bishop made 20 saves in the win while Carey Price stopped 32 shots in a losing cause.
