Just a quick followup on yesterday’s poll question that asked, are the Nashville Predators legitimate Stanley Cup contenders?

At last glance, 78 percent of voters believed that, yes, the Preds are legit contenders.

But you know who’s not so sure? Or, at least, isn’t willing to say so publicly?

That would be Nashville GM David Poile, who was in Toronto yesterday for the gold-medal game of the World Juniors.

“I want to be very conservative today,” Poile told PHT’s Dhiren Mahiban. “I mean, we haven’t made the playoffs in two years. We’re playing very well right now.

“We said at the beginning of the year, our only goal was to get into the playoffs. If we make the playoffs, then we’ll talk about winning in the playoffs. I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

“We’re happy with our progress.”
