The Dallas Stars have claimed defenseman David Schlemko off waivers from the Arizona Coyotes.
“David will add veteran depth and a solid puck-mover to our blueline,” said Stars’ GM Jim Nill in a statement. “This gives us the flexibility to keep our young defensemen playing, whether here or in Texas.”
Schlemko, 27, has a goal and four points in 20 games this season to go along with a minus-5 rating for the Coyotes.
An undrafted, free-agent signing, Schlemko has appeared in 207 career NHL games all with the Coyotes registering nine goals and 50 points.
Dallas plays host to the Minnesota Wild tonight.
