For the first time, Kraft Hockeyville is going south of the 49th parallel.
The wildly successful competition, designed to foster the passion for hockey at the grassroots level, will enter the United States this season with the chance to host an NHL preseason game and $150,000 in arena upgrades for one lucky community.
Community nominations begin Jan. 1. In March, 10 finalist communities will be selected for a national round-robin vote, with the community capturing the highest number of votes in the final round winning the title of Kraft Hockeyville.
Here at PHT, we’ll be profiling some of the nominated communities. Be sure to check back frequently throughout the year to see if your local rink will take home the title.
