Nick Bjugstad is on pace to set new career highs in goals and points. And, according to one report, he’s now got a brand new contract extension with the Florida Panthers.

According to George Richards of the Miami Herald, who cited an unidentified source, the Panthers have signed the 22-year-old Bjugstad to a six-year contract worth $4.1 million per season. The Panthers have yet to confirm or announce a new deal for the towering center, who was a first-round pick of Florida’s back in 2010.

This would make for quite a raise for Bjugstad, who is in the final year of his three-year entry-level contract that pays him an annual average salary of $1.1 million, according to Capgeek.com.

Bjugstad is in his second full season with the Panthers. He scored on Tuesday, giving him 13 goals and 21 points in 34 games this season. He scored 16 times, and recorded 38 points in 76 games last season with Florida.
