The 2015 Winter Classic and a slew of New Year’s resolutions make tomorrow a significant day for most of us. Here’s one other reason not to sleep through half of the day after having a little too much fun tonight: teams can re-sign players who were on one-year contracts starting on Jan. 1, 2015. If you were watching the Oilers’ eventual shootout win against the Kings last night, you may have noticed a peculiar moment of “gamesmanship” when Ben Scrivens was forced to tape up the knob of his goalie stick.
