It wasn’t that long ago that the San Jose Sharks were 10-10-4 and their owner was lamenting the notion that, “After 10 years on the sunny side, we now have to fight to reach the top eight in our conference.”
Well, the Sharks are now 19-11-4. On Saturday, they beat the Blues, 3-2 in overtime, for their ninth win in 10 tries.
Tonight, it’s a visit to Anaheim to take on the Pacific Division-leading Ducks.
“We have to be happy with it, the point production and the game, the way we’re playing,” coach Todd McLellan said. “We played a good team (Saturday). Gave up 12 shots in the last two periods and overtime, which is a good thing for our club now.”
The win over St. Louis kicked off a 10-game stretch for the Sharks in which only one of their opponents, Minnesota, is currently out of a playoff spot:
Saturday’s victory was also the Sharks’ eighth straight at home. This after they started the season 2-4-2 at SAP Center, losing outright to the likes of Columbus, Buffalo and Calgary.
