For a moment, it looked like Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen would be able to continue playing after absorbing a hard hit from Calgary Flames defenseman Dennis Wideman.
Hansen skated to the bench on his own strength, but it wasn’t long before he collapsed and his worried teammates frantically signaled for help.

He was helped to the dressing room and kept out of the remainder of the game for precautionary reasons, per the Canucks’ Twitter feed. He was taken to the hospital and everything checked out, according to Canucks coach Willie Desjardins.
Although the circumstances and outcome of both incidents are significantly different, some will no doubt think of what happened to Rich Peverley earlier this year in relation to this incident.
Henrik said Hansen "couldn't catch his breath" at the bench.
