Seriously? Stress fracture sidelines Columbus’ Jenner for 1-2 months

The Columbus Blue Jackets announced this morning that forward Boone Jenner was placed on IR and will miss about one-to-two months with a stress fracture in his back.

With that injury absence in mind, the team recalled Sean Collins.

It’s difficult to find the right word to describe how ridiculous the Blue Jackets’ injury situation has become, so Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch just puts it all in number form:

If you’re wondering if this situation was preventable at all, this may or may not provide a little bit of added insight:

Jenner, 21, has 12 points in 20 games so far this season. Collins, 25, generated 19 points in 27 AHL games with the Springfield Falcons so far this season.

The Blue Jackets face the Chicago Blackhawks tonight.

If Columbus fans need a bright side to look on, it does seem like things are getting a little bit better:
