Video: King scores on Brodeur from center ice, Kings beat the Blues

Screen Shot 2014-12-18 at 10.23.48 PM

It happens. Even to the great ones.

L.A. Kings forward Dwight King beat St. Louis Blues goalie Martin Brodeur, with his 690 career wins in the National Hockey League regular season, from center ice in the third period of Thursday’s game. It was L.A.'s sixth goal of the game, and it came with less than eight minutes remaining in regulation.

The puck was bounced in on Brodeur. The final hop eluded the future Hall-of-Fame puck stopper, as it bounced right over his shoulder and into the net. That gave L.A. a two-goal lead.

It also pretty much snuffed out chances of a St. Louis equalizer in the second half of a home-and-home series between these two clubs. The Kings took this game by a final score of 6-4, despite trailing 3-0 in the opening period.
