Patrick Sharp has been back in the Chicago Blackhawks lineup for five games, since returning from a right leg injury. It’s never easy when coming back after a month-long absence.

The 32-year-old Sharp, in those five games back, has scored once and added an assist while trying to adjust back into the speed of the game and a different role amongst the forwards.

“It kind of opens your eyes and gives you some perspective to realize how lucky we all are to be a part of this league and this team playing hockey for a living and having a great time,” Sharp told the Chicago Tribune.

“Physically, I’m good ... It’s just a matter of regaining that timing and the chemistry with linemates and feeling comfortable out there.”

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have won 10 times in their last 11 games, moving up to the top of the Central Division standings. Quite the situation to come back into for Sharp.
