Ben Eager signs with Blues’ AHL affiliate

Ben Eager

Ben Eager is back playing hockey in North America.

On Thursday, the well-traveled tough guy inked with the Chicago Wolves, AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.

More, from the club:

The 30-year-old joins the team after starting the season with CSKA Moscow (KHL), where he was held scoreless and posted two penalty minutes in five games. He split last season between Edmonton (NHL) and Oklahoma City (AHL).

The forward dished out one assist in seven games with the Oilers and garnered eight points (6G, 2A) in 44 tilts with the Barons while leading the team in penalty minutes with 136.

Eager was released by CSKA in early December, and will now join a Wolves team that’s pretty deep with NHL experience -- his new teammates include a pair of Stanley Cup winners in Brent Sopel and Colin Fraser.
