Voynov to stand trial in domestic violence case

After hearing police testimony that Slava Voynov punched, kicked, and choked his wife, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Hector M. Guzman ruled today that there’s sufficient evidence for the domestic violence case against the Kings’ defenseman to proceed.

Motions by the defense to dismiss the case and to reduce it to a misdemeanor were rejected.

Voynov will be arraigned Dec. 29.
