Carey Price was in the zone. It was like the L.A. Kings didn’t have a chance.
Price, the Montreal Canadiens goalie, made 44 saves in a 6-2 victory over the Kings on Friday. Based on the score alone, it seems like a lopsided victory, right?
Well, the Habs only managed 20 shots on goal. Meanwhile, the Kings had 16 shots total on the power play. L.A.'s goalie Martin Jones gave up six goals, as this game got away from the Kings in the third period. So yes, this was lopsided in terms of the goaltending match-up.
Price was sensational. Jones not so much.
“Jeez, I thought we had a lot of really good chances. I mean, we totally dominated the first period. I think Carey Price was really, really good, wasn’t he?” said Kings head coach Darryl Sutter, as per LA Kings Insider.
“We came in here and we played really well. I mean, we know he’s world class. We expected that.”
