The Ducks extended their win streak to five games with a 2-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday night.

Anaheim has now won eight of 10 and have a league-leading 43 points.

Matt Beleskey opened the scoring, midway through the first, with his 14th of the season tying him with Corey Perry for the team lead.

Midway through the second, Ryan Kesler netted his 10th of the season, the eventual game-winner.

“I don’t think we played our best tonight, but we played well enough to win,” said Kesler. “We did a great job shutting them down.”

The win is the Ducks’ 12th straight one-goal victory.

“We need to find that killer instinct to put a team away,” said Ducks coach, Bruce Boudreau. “We had our chances, but haven’t found ways to bury them.”

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had the lone goal for the Oilers, 57-seconds into the third.

The Oilers have now lost 13 of 14.

The two teams reconvene in Edmonton on Friday.
