Steven Stamkos is just 24 years old, but he’s already won the Rocket Richard Trophy twice. Tonight he added to his impressive resume with his 250th goal in just 439 career games.

He’s the 10th youngest player to ever reach that mark, per the Tampa Bay Times’ Joe Smith. That’s impressive on its own, but keep in mind that Stamkos only played in 85 contests over the previous two seasons due to the lockout and then a broken right tibia. If not for those two events, he would have almost certainly reached this mark significantly sooner.

Going into tonight’s game, Stamkos ranked second among active players in career goals per game (0.569) behind only Alex Ovechkin (0.616). The Washington Capitals superstar has also found the back of the net Tuesday’s contest.
