Toronto blueliner Stephane Robidas isn’t scheduled for a disciplinary hearing following his high check on Vancouver’s Shawn Matthias from Saturday night, per Sportsnet.

The incident in question:

Robidas received an elbowing minor on the play. Matthias left the game for good following the hit and was subsequently held out of Vancouver’s 4-3 OT loss to Ottawa on Sunday.

Following the game, Robidas was remorseful for the elbow and said there was no malicious intent in his actions.

“I didn’t mean to hurt the guy,” he said, as per The Canadian Press. “I just hope he’s fine. They called (me) for elbowing. I didn’t mean to hurt him, and I just hope he’s OK.”

“I try to play physical … I don’t try to hurt people, that’s not what I’m trying to do. The play happened fast and I tried to close on him. … It’s one of those where I just felt awful.”
