Thomas Hickey got a fortunate bounce in overtime helping the New York Islanders edge the Ottawa Senators 3-2 Tuesday night.
Hickey put a puck towards the net headed towards Mikhail Grabovski; however, it went off the skate of Sens’ defenseman Cody Ceci and past a sprawling Craig Anderson for the game winner.
“I came around the net and I just threw it blind to be honest,” said Hickey post-game.
The Islanders have now won seven of eight the Senators meanwhile have dropped three straight and five of six.
Brock Nelson and Ryan Strome scored in regulation for the Islanders.
