Crow grounded: ‘Hawks lose Crawford (concert) for 2-3 weeks

Corey Crawford
The Chicago Blackhawks will be without starting netminder Corey Crawford for the next 2-3 weeks with a lower-body injury. And what an injury it is:

Crawford says he missed a step at a concert and is embarrassed.

Crawford also wouldn’t reveal what concert he was attending at the time.

This is the second injury Chicago’s No. 1 netminder suffered this year. In October, he missed a handful of games with an upper-body ailment, which paved the way for AHL Rockford’s Scott Darling to make his NHL debut and impress Chicago brass by winning a pair of games.

Despite these health issues, Crawford has been excellent for the ‘Hawks, going 12-5-1 with a 1.87 GAA and .929 save percentage. The 30-year-old will undoubtedly be missed; Chicago has a tough stretch coming up with games against St. Louis, Montreal, Nashville, New Jersey, Boston and the New York Islanders, with the latter four contests all coming on the road.

With Crawford out, the ‘Hawks will lean on Darling and little-used backup Antti Raanta, who’ll start in tonight’s Rivalry Game against the Blues.
