Anaheim Ducks forward Kyle Palmieri’s afternoon ended early after he smashed Chicago defenseman Johnny Oduya into the boards near the end of the second period.

Oduya headed for the Blackhawks’ locker room rather than the bench after that hit, per CSN Chicago’s Tracey Myers, but there were less than 10 seconds left on the clock, so it’s hard to read too much into that. He was out for the start of the third period.
Chicago was handed a too many men on the ice penalty which negated the opening two minutes of their advantage. Meanwhile, Anaheim entered the third just 20 minutes away from going a second straight game without a power play.
