The Maple Leafs will be without the services of Roman Polak for the next four weeks after he suffered a knee injury on Saturday against Detroit, per TSN.
Polak, 28, was off to a nice start in his first year in Toronto after coming over from St. Louis in exchange for Carl Gunnarsson at the draft. The Czech rearguard had appeared in all 21 games, scoring five points, while averaging 21:07 TOI per night and leading all Leafs blueliners in hits (83) and blocked shots (51).
With Polak out, the Leafs recalled d-man Korbinian Holzer from the AHL Marlies on Monday morning.
