Canucks’ Hamhuis placed on IR

The Vancouver Canucks have placed defenseman Dan Hamhuis on injured reserve.

Hamhuis suffered some sort of right leg injury on Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks.

Sources have told PHT that Hamhuis’ suffered a “significant lower body injury”. The 31-year-old had an MRI done on Friday and saw doctors on Saturday.

Hamhuis has six assists and a minus-5 rating in 20 games this season while averaging just over 20 minutes in ice time.

Sunday’s 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks was the first game Hamhuis missed with the injury.
