Jets’ forward Blake Wheeler had a dangerous-looking hit from behind on Blues’ defenseman Chris Butler during the first period in Winnipeg tonight.
St. Louis’ captain David Backes stepped in and dropped the gloves, but there were no punches exchanged between the two U.S. Olympic teammates.
Butler was able to get up on his own and appears OK.
Wheeler got the lone penalty, a boarding minor, on the play.
