The Chicago Blackhawks began their seven-game circus road trip with a 4-3 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.
The trip is caused by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus taking over the United Center for the next 10 days.
The Blackhawks are 20-9-2 during the yearly trip since coach Joel Quenneville was hired on Oct. 16, 2008. Chicago was 6-1-0 on the trip last season.
Adam Clendening opened the scoring with his first NHL goal. Daniel Carcillo gave Chicago a 2-0 lead before Paul Byron and Dennis Wideman responded for Calgary tying it at 2-2 after one period.
Brent Seabrook and Sean Monahan exchanged second period goals.
Patrick Kane scored the eventual game-winner, his seventh of the season, at 9:12 of the third.
Corey Crawford made 24 saves in the win while Jonas Hiller stopped 18 shots in the loss.
