Video: Perron’s game-tying goal disallowed

Oilers forward David Perron thought he’d tied the game at 5-5 with less than 10 seconds remaining in the third period.

However; upon further review, the goal was waved off.

Here is the official explanation from the league:

At 19:52 of the third period in the Vancouver Canucks/Edmonton Oilers game, video review confirmed the referee’s call on the ice that Edmonton’s David Perron kicked the puck, which then deflected off Vancouver goaltender Ryan Miller’s blocker and into the Canucks net. According to Rule 49.2 “A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks a puck that deflects into the net off any player, goalkeeper or official.” No goal Edmonton.

The Canucks hung on for a 5-4 win.
