Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid is out six to eight weeks with a broken thumb, the club announced today.
McQuaid suffered the injury last night versus the Blues. The 28-year-old has appeared in all 20 Boston games this season, logging almost 20 minutes a night.
The good news for the Bruins, who remain without their best defenseman, the injured Zdeno Chara, is that blue-liner Kevan Miller (upper body) is nearing a return to the lineup.
Boston plays in Columbus on Friday.
