The Buffalo Sabres have pulled off a first for the 2014-15 campaign: 20 games into the season and they’re finally on a winning streak. The San Jose Sharks heavily outshot them tonight, but Buffalo came away with a 4-1 victory.

Michal Neuvirth deserves credit for keeping the Sabres in this game early as his team was outshot 10-3 in the first period, but he had to leave due to a lower-body injury. Jhonas Enroth stepped in for the start of the second frame and did a great job of filling the void, turning aside 17 of 18 shots to earn his second win of the campaign.

Brian Gionta scored his first goal of the season to give the Sabres a 2-1 lead at 11:54 of the second period and that proved to be the game-winner. He later helped himself to an empty-netter to seal the deal.

Nicolas Deslauriers and Brian Flynn accounted for Buffalo’s other two goals. The Sabres will try to keep their streak going on Friday against the San Jose Sharks.
