Not much has gone right for the Buffalo Sabres this season, but one of the players that has done well is goaltender Michal Neuvirth. After falling out of favor with the Washington Capitals, Neuvirth has revitalized his career in Buffalo and played like a potential long-term option in goal.

So it’s particularly troubling that he has gotten hurt during Tuesday’s game against the San Jose Sharks. Neuvirth turned aside all 10 Sharks shots in the first period, but he suffered a lower-body injury, per the Sabres’ Twitter feed.

Jhonas Enroth entered the game at the start of the second period.

Neuvirth might have sustained the injury during Justin Braun’s waived off goal late in the first period. It was one of two goals that was disallowed in that frame as Zemgus Girgensons’ marker was canceled due to Tyler Ennis’ goalie interference.
