Ryan Jones is on his way to Cologne.
On Monday, German League club Kolner Haie announced they inked the longtime NHLer to a contract, just two weeks after Jones was released from his PTO with Vancouver’s AHL affiliate in Utica.
Minnesota’s fourth-round pick at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Jones debuted with Nashville during the 2008-09 campaign and went on to appear in over 300 contests with the Predators and Oilers. His best seasons came in Edmonton from 2010-12, when he combined to score 35 goals and 58 points over the course of two seasons.
Jones spent last year split between the Oilers and their AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City; as mentioned above, he was brought in for a look by the Canucks earlier this season but only played five games in Utica before being released.
