Video: Scheifele exits game with lower-body injury

Scheifele hurt

Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele exited Sunday’s contest against the Minnesota Wild in the second period because of what appeared to be a knee injury. The Jets have confirmed that he won’t return, but are officially categorizing it as a lower-body issue, per the Winnipeg Sun’s Ken Wiebe.

Scheifele was hurt when his leg got caught between a fallen Erik Haula’s. The Jets forward fell to the ice knee first.

Scheifele, 21, had two goals and seven points in 18 games going into today’s contest. This is his second full NHL season after he recorded 34 points in 63 contests in 2013-14.
