Corey Perry missed five straight games with the mumps, but he is able to return to the Ducks’ lineup for Sunday’s game against the Florida Panthers.
He’s one of a handful of NHL players that has dealt with the virus in recent weeks and it was a tough recovery.
“Swollen jaw, pressure in my head, body aches, fever – those things weren’t fun,” Perry recently said, describing what his former symptoms. “I had no energy to do nothing, slept most of the time.”
Before the illness, he was off to a fantastic start with 11 goals and 15 points in 13 contests. Without him, the Ducks have gone 1-0-4.
