The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled defenseman Korbinian Holzer on an emergency basis the club announced Saturday.

One blue liner who is nursing bumps and bruises is Cody Franson. He was seen Friday morning with his right foot heavily wrapped in ice and limping. He still managed over 20 minutes in ice time in the Leafs 2-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Holzer, 26, has an assist and six penalty minutes in seven games with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. In 24 career NHL games, all with the Leafs, Holzer has two goals, an assist and 30 penalty minutes.
Toronto visits the Buffalo Sabres tonight.
