The Columbus Blue Jackets snapped their nine-game losing streak tonight, but this season the Blue Jackets can’t seem to have a silver lining without it being washed away by a storm.

Defenseman Fedor Tyutin was hurt tonight when he collided with Philadelphia’s Jakub Voracek. Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards didn’t offer any details after the game other than to say it’s a “lower body” issue, per the Columbus Dispatch’s Aaron Portzline.

Columbus has dealt with more than its fair share of injuries this season. If Tyutin can’t play on Saturday, he’ll be joining defensemen Ryan Murray and Cody Goloubef on the sidelines, among others.

Just 16 games into the Blue Jackets’ schedule, they were already down to six players that had participated in every contest and that number will drop to five if Tyutin is unavailable.

He has two assists and has averaged 20:18 minutes per contest this season. He also leads the team in shorthanded minutes.
