Video: Stepan, Kreider in joking mood after accidental collision

Stepan, Kreider collide

There’s no good way to suffer an injury, but among the worst has to be getting hurt by crashing into your own teammate.

Chris Kreider and Derek Stepan accidentally smashed into each other late in Tuesday’s 5-0 victory over Pittsburgh and it initially looked like Stepan might be hurt. That would have been particularly bad luck after he missed the start of the season due to a fractured fibula. Fortunately he was okay and when he got back to the bench, Rangers coach Alain Vigneault seemed amused by the incident.

Stepan and Kreider seemed in equally good spirits as you can see below:

“I think I won that one,” Stepan insisted after the game, per New York Daily News’ Pat Leonard. “I don’t know ... I was feeling it. It was like he punched me in the gut, but I win.”
