We already have one candidate for possible goal of the year, courtesy of St. Louis Blues sensation Vladimir Tarasenko. Did we witness another on Monday, courtesy of Boston Bruins forward Seth Griffith.
Late in the second period, Griffith blocked a shot in his defensive end, took off back the other way, managed to fend off two New Jersey Devils defensemen and, as if that wasn’t enough, finally beat goalie Cory Schneider with a no-look, through-the-legs backhander.
For Griffith, that’s his fourth goal of the year. It also gave the Bruins a 3-2 lead. They added another to that total before the end of the second period.
So Seth Griffith has now scored flying through the air and backward between his legs. I have no idea how he can top this.
