After the New York Rangers suffered a 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, Rangers forward Derek Stepan remarked that it could have been 7-1 if not for goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.
Stepan might have been thinking about this robbery when he was making that comment:
That move kept the Rangers in this game, although they couldn’t take advantage of the opportunity. It also speaks to the fact that at least Lundqvist had a good night, even if New York overall was underwhelming. Lundqvist got off to a rough start this season, but he has a 1.62 GAA and .941 save percentage in his last three starts. If he keeps playing like that the Rangers should eventually rally around him.
