The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled center Trevor Smith from the American Hockey League’s Marlies the club announced Sunday.
The recall likely means either Daniel Winnik, who was injured Thursday night in Colorado isn’t ready to go, or Peter Holland, who briefly left Saturday night’s 5-4 win over the New York Rangers, is hurt.
Smith, 29, has two goals and five points in eight games with the Marlies this season.
He appeared in 28 games with the Leafs last season registering four goals and nine points.
The Leafs visit the Senators tonight - it is the rescheduled game from Oct. 22, which was postponed due to the shooting in Ottawa.
