Yesterday, we passed along word that Minnesota alternate captain Zach Parise would miss the club’s upcoming three-game road trip with an upper-body injury.

Today, the club announced Parise suffered a concussion.

The 30-year-old has never missed time to concussions before, but has had brushes with head injuries. In 2012, while a member of the Devils, he was sent for protocol testing following a big hit from Books Laich; there was also an incident during last year’s playoffs where he was “shaken up” following a hit from Chicago’s Brandon Bollig.

Not surprisingly, the Wild are preaching caution with regards to his recovery. Head coach Mike Yeo told reporters today that Parise has no timetable for return -- looking ahead, the Wild play at home on Nov. 13 (their first game back off the upcoming roadie), then begin a stretch in which they play five of seven on the road (in Dallas, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Florida and again in Dallas.)
