Maple Leafs forward Daniel Winnik has left Toronto’s game in Colorado after colliding with Colorado Avalanche defenseman Jan Hejda.
The 29-year-old hit his head awkwardly on the ice and was taken off on a stretcher.
Daniel Winnik is alert and moving. He is currently being evaluated by the Leafs’ team doctor. #TMLtalk

Winnik spent two seasons in Colorado (2010-12) appearing in 142 games with the Avalanche.
Update:
Being told it's very unlikely Winnik will go to hospital so that's more good news... Robidas said that Daniel was walking around

Told Winnik is reaching out to those close to him, assuring all concerned he's fine. Early signs are very good.
