Bit of a Negative Nelly morning here on PHT. The Stars aren’t playing well. The Avs aren’t playing well. We didn’t do a post specifically on the Blue Jackets’ six-game losing streak, but their coach isn’t too happy with them either.
Nor, it seems, is Canadiens coach Michel Therrien happy with the way his team is playing.
Per the Globe and Mail, Therrien called out the Habs after last night’s 5-0 loss at home to the Blackhawks, saying, “usually we show a lot of character; we didn’t tonight.”
Montreal has now dropped two straight at home, by a combined score of 11-2. Sunday’s 6-2 loss to Calgary similarly left Therrien “disappointed,” though not panicky.
“We’re having trouble creating rhythm in our game,” Therrien added, per NHL.com. “Our transition game isn’t there. In a relay race, when you don’t get that baton, you can’t race. That’s what’s happening to us right now.”
The Canadiens’ record, once 7-1-0, now stands at 8-4-1.
Montreal plays tonight in Buffalo.
