The injury bug hasn’t been kind to Philadelphia this season, and that trend continued on Wednesday as the club announced Michael Raffl would miss the next six weeks with a lower-body injury.

Raffl, who was enjoying a tremendous start to the campaign with six goals through 12 games, was hurt blocking a shot in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Edmonton -- a game in which he finished plus-2 and third on the team in hits, with three.

Raffl out six weeks. He’s the fifth Flyer to get hurt blocking a shot this season.

As mentioned off the top, Philly’s had very little luck in the health department. They lost Kimmo Timonen prior to the start of the regular season with blood clots, then saw Braydon Coburn go down to a foot injury the first game of the season. Vincent Lecavalier missed seven games with a foot injury, and Andrew MacDonald is out four weeks with a lower-body ailment.
